GREENSBORO, NC - Virginia Intermont College improved by 6 strokes (319) as a team from their day one total (325) of the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial to finish in 9th place with a final score of 644.

FARMVILLE, VA - Trevor Banks of Virginia Intermont won the individual medalist honors at the Hampden-Sydney Invitational held at The Manor Golf Club in Farmville, Virginia.  The junior shot a 3 under par 69 to in the first round and found himself one stroke back.  In the second round, with the course playing considerably more tough, he shot a 2 over par 74 to win by two strokes.

Bristol, VA - July 30, 2011 - As Coach Louis Collier prepares to start his fourth season as the Men's Golf Coach, things seem to be in place for what could potentially be a season to remember. 
 
For the past two seasons, the Cobras have competed very well in a variety of tournaments, have placed golfers on the All-Conference teams and several All-Tournament teams and the level of talent on the team is now 15 players deep.

Virginia Intermont's Chris Holt, Athletic Director, and Louis Collier, Men's Golf Coach, particpated this past Monday in a golf tournament at The Ridges Club in Johnson City, Tennessee for the benefit of the Niswonger Children's Hospital.  The tournament raised over $300,000 for the purchase of equipment for the neonatal unit.

Tyson Lynn finishes collegiate career with strong performance
 
Winchester, Tenn. - The VI Men's Golf Team finished fourth in the National Qualifying Tournament held at the Jack Nicklaus-designed "Bear Trace at Tim's Ford" in Winchester, Tenn.  The golf course features a very tough challenge with its tree lined fairways, dozens of bunkers, tall grass and greens that require precision reading and touch.

Cobra's Zane Rollins is named to the All-Tournament Team

The Cobras men's golf team opened their Spring 2011 season in Pineville, Kentucky at the Union Invitational.  The weather presented a huge challenge to the teams as flooding on the course cancelled the practice round Sunday and the water and temperature came into play Monday and Tuesday.

The Cobras' Men's Golf Team chose the Salvation Army and the "Ringing of the Bell" as their community service project for the fall semester.  They have pledged to work a total of 60 hours and will finish their hours this week.

October 27, 2010 - Big Stone Gap, VA - The Virginia Intermont Men's Golf Team completed their 2010 Fall Season with a second place finish in the UVA-Wise Collegiate Invitational held at Lonesome Pine Country Club in Big Stone Gap, Viriginia.
