Virginia Intermont College men's basketball program launches C.O.B.R.A. Reading Program. C.O.B.R.A. stands for Collectively Offering Bold Reading Activities and is a collaborative effort between VI men's basketball program and Washington Lee Elementary School in Bristol, VA. The program is designed to promote "The Power of Reading" program and to promote literacy in elementary school children ages K-6.

Virginia Intermont will host a "play-in" game this evening at Virginia High School with the tip off set for 7:30 p.m.The Cobras will play Montreat College with the winner advancing on to the first round of the AAC Conference Tournament. The winner will travel to Bluefield College to play the Rams.

Jerrod "Scottie"Hendricks, a 5'8"guard from Radford High School has signed his letter of intent to play basketball at Virginia Intermont College.

Hendricks was a key component on the 2008-2009 Bobcat team that won the 2009 VHSL State Tournament. In the state final, Scottie broke the VHSL tournament record with 13 assists.

Dakota Smith of Glade Spring, VA has signed his letter of intent to continue his education and his basketball career at Virginia Intermont College.

Smith is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School where he played basketball for the Rebels under the coaching of Jon Cawood. Dakota was a two year letterman and averaged seven points and four rebounds per game.
