Jeremy Christian - Head Coach - 1st Season

A Bristol, VA native, Jeremy was a standout at Virginia High School as he helped the Bearcats to the 1996 VHSL AA State Championship crown and a runner up finish in the 1998 VHSL AA State Championship game.

After high school, Christian attended Brevard Junior College in Brevard NC, helping them to a #3 ranking in NJCAA Div 1 poll.

Christian transferred to Milligan College where he played for current Texas Rangers minor league pitching coordinator Danny Clark.  He helped the Buffaloes to 2 postseason tournament appearances, including the 2001 AAC regular season championship, and tournament runner up and served as team captain his senior year.  Jeremy earned his Bachelor's degree in Communications with an Exercise Science/Coaching Minor.

After his time at Milligan, Christian attended University of Tennessee, earning his Masters in Communication with an emphasis in Journalism and Electronic Media.  He served as the Vol's strength and conditioning student assistant with baseball and football, while earning his personal trainer's license from the National Association of Sports Medicine.

Jeremy began his coaching career as an assistant at Union College, in Barbourville, KY. He helped mold the outfielders, the offense and was in charge of the strength and conditioning program.  In their first season, he helped guide the Bulldogs to a program record 48 wins, the AAC tournament championship, and a number 7 national record.  During Christian's tenure, Union broke numerous offensive records including:  batting average, runs per game, at bats, runs, hits, doubles, rbi's, walks, and total bases.  

Following Union, he served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Virginia Intermont Collge.  His first class as recruiting coordinator had 22 players (9 juco transfers and 13 first year college players), more than doubling the previous years numbers.  Also signed the first player in VI history to be previously taken in the MLB first year player draft.  

In all, Christian has coached 13 first team All-AAC selections, 2 second team All-AAC selections, 8 first team All-NAIA region XII selections, 7 NAIA All-American honorable mentions, 1 NAIA first team all American, 2006 AAC freshman of the year, 2006 Region player of the year, 2006 AAC player of the year, 2008 Conference pitcher of the year, 2008 Region pitcher of the year,  14 AAC All-Academic team members and has had 3 players have gone on to play professionally.

Him and wife, Amanda, are active at Highlands Fellowship Church in Bristol and reside in Bristol, TN.
