The Cobras will add these new pieces to a team that lost only one starter (Jordan Spurling transferred) and returns it's top two leading scorers (senior, Wade Bryant and junior, Marquette Knight).
The 2010 Cobra recruits include:
 
Joshua Hart-  Freshman: Joshua is a 6'6" athlete who can play any position from 2-5. He is long, athletic, and has a nose for the ball. He can score inside and out, Handles it well, passes well and cleans the glass on both ends. His long arms allow him to be a defensive presence on the perimeter and in the paint. Joshua is from Edgewood, MD and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmanual Hart.
 
Daniel Ross- Freshman:Daniel is a 6'3" athletic wing player who can score from anywhere on the court. He possesses good size and great speed. Daniel is an ultra-competitive person who will do whatever it takes for his team to get the win. He was an AA All-State performer in New York, in both football and basketball. He is coming to VI to play along side his brother Jimmie, who is a junior for the Cobras. Daniel is the son of Mr. Jim Ross and Ms. Pamela Smith of Syracuse, NY.
 
Neven Raspudic- Sophomore: Neven is a 6'7" post player with great range. He is transferring to VI from NCAA Division II Tusculum College. The big Croatian has quite an extensive background. Neven was a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Under 16 European Championship team in 2005, and is currently the only member of the Cobra Program with FIBA experience. He will provide and huge lift for the Cobras in the paint. Neven is from Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jaica Raspudic.
Maxim Sorokin - Freshman. Maxim is the first legitimate 7'0" post player to play at VI in some time. He is a tremendously skilled athlete who runs the floor very well and finishes well around the basket. He led Lynchburg, VA's, Holy Cross Regional school in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots. His long arms and size allow him to be a tremendous shot blocker and rebounder. He will be called upon to provide depth in the post and to help trigger the Cobras' fast break attack. Maxim is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexey Sorokin of Moscow, Russia.
 
Joshua Summerfield - Freshman. Joshua Summerfield is the latest signee of the Cobras. The 6'0" combo guard from Raleigh, NC's, Word of God Academy is a defensive stopper and explosive shooter. Joshua is a diligent worker and possesses a very high basketball IQ. Most importantly he is a winner. In the last two seasons Joshua has won a National Championship and two NC State Independent School Championships. He was voted by his teammates at Word of God to be a team captain, and was the two time defensive MVP on a team that featured 2010 NBA number 1 pick John Wall and 2010 McDonald's All-American C.J. Leslie. Joshua is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Frank Summerfield of Raleigh, NC.
 
Coach Scott Hoagland stated, " This is a very talented group of young men. All of them will see plenty of action right away. I am very pleased with the progress our program has made by adding these very talented players. We have added size, we have added depth, and we have become deeper and more versatile."
