Matt is from Wokingham, Bershire (England) and attended Forest High School where he played soccer as well as competed in Track and Field. He has played on numerous club teams in England such as Southhampton, Crystal Palace' Bracknell Town and Reading.

Coach Ssejjemba commented, " As a goal keeper, Matt has played at prestigious youth academies. He is a very experienced goal keeper with good presence, good distribution and uses both feet very well. He commands the back line very well."
