Ely Buhrts of Fort Myers, Florida recently signed his letter of intent to play golf at Virginia Intermont College.

Buhrts is a graduate of Gateway Charter High School where he has played golf all four years as well as football and baseball for the Griffins. Ely was an intricate part of the Gateway's growing presence in Southwest Florida golf.

 

Ely will continue his education studying Pre-Med and playing golf for the Cobras. He is the son of Norma and George Buhrts of Fort Myers, FL.

 

Coach Louis Collier stated, "I am very pleased that Ely chose to pursue his college education and golf career at VI.  Ely is an outstanding young man that has achieved tremendous success in the classroom and on the golf course.  He is a great addition to our VI family and I look forward to coaching him over the next four years."
