Jon with family, High School coahes , Head VI coach, Josh Swain & Asst. VI coach Tyler Belcher
In a ceremony held in the library at Coeburn High School, Jon Dean signed his letter of intent to continue his education and baseball career at Virginia Intermont College.
Jon is a Coeburn, VA native and attends Coeburn High School where he is a catcher for the Blue Knights.baseball team.
Dean is currently having a stellar senior year for the Blue Knights hitting over .500 with 9 homeruns and an amazing 47 RBIs. Jon needs 2 homeruns to tie the Coeburn High School record.
Jon was named the 2009 Cumberland District Player of the Year, to the 1st team All District ,1st team All Region and honorable mention All State. He was also named to the Kingsport Times News 1st team as a catcher.
Coach Josh Swain commented, " We are excited to have Jon join us in the fall, he is a quality student and will add depth behind the plate and as a hitter."
