BRISTOL, Va. - Men's soccer at Virginia Intermont College (VI) announced the signing of Bradly ‘Austin' Gibson Friday afternoon. Gibson is a defender from Gate City, Va., who just completed an impressive four-year soccer career at Gate City High School.

In his sophomore year, Gibson was a 1st Team All-District and 2nd Team All-Region selection. In his junior year, he helped his team to a record of 16-1, winning the regular season District Championship and Region Championship. In the same season, he received 1st Team All-District and 1st Team All-Region accolades and was an All-State Honorable Mention selection.

He helped lead his team to the state final four his senior year, but they endured a tough loss to Radford High School in the semi-final. Gibson remained consistent by collecting All-District and All-Region First Team awards and All-State Honorable Mention honors.

"Austin is a winner," said VI Head Coach Robert Ssejjemba. "He has won individual and team honors throughout his high school career, which speak volumes about his work ethic and abilities.  He will help improve our defense, since he is an excellent organizer and communicator."

Gibson will major in sports management at Virginia Intermont.
