BRISTOL, VA - Virginia Intermont College womens soccer inked another player today out of Marion High School in Holly Richardson.

Richardson will bring experience at the defensive end of the field including one years experience as a midfielder for the Scarlet Hurricanes.

"I'm so excited to be a new member of the Cobra soccer team," said Richardson. "It has always been my goal to play collegiate soccer."

Richardson was a winner of the sportsmanship award at Marion High School as a sophomore and was awarded the Eric Albano Memorial Award as a senior.    She received second team All-District in 2009-2010 and was first team All-District in 2010-2011.  She was also team captain in soccer and a member of the track team.

"I am very proud of Holly," said Marion Head Coach Jay Shirey. "She has always done well for us at Marion as she was awarded four varsity letters for soccer."

Richardson earned the Sheepskin Award at Marion, given to student-athletes earning nine or more varsity letters.  She plans to major in social work when she attends VI.
