VI Men's Golf Team finishes fourth in Spring AAC Event

The Cobras Men's Golf Team finished fourth in the Spring AAC event this past Monday and Tuesday.  The fourth place finish was three spots better than last year and the Cobras posted the third best score on Tuesday.

The tournament was held at the world-famous Barnesley Resort in Adairsville, GA and features the course known as "The General," designed by Jim Fazio.  The course is extremely long measuring at 7300 yards with tight fairways and plenty of water and sand bunkers and plays to a par 72.  Coach Collier stated, "This is without a doubt one of the best and most difficult courses that we will play.  I would very much like to have our team play here again.  It is a true first-class operation in all aspects."

Tennessee Wesleyan won the tournament, followed by Milligan, Reinhardt, VI, Union, UVA-Wise, Bluefield and Montreat.

Individually, Justin Brown finished in fifth place for the tournament and joined Greyson Rossi as both earned All-AAC honors for the season.  Stephen Adeimy just missed out on making the conference team.

"We played well enough that I thought that we should have finished second, but we took another step forward and proved to ourselves that we can compete at a high level and it gives us confidence as we prepare for the national qualifying tournament in two weeks," commented Coach Collier.
