
Webb helped the Lady Cobras knock off two top 25 teams in 4 days as the Lady Cobras upended No. 19 Bluefield College Lady Rams, 78-67, last Wednesday in the Cobra Den and then traveled to Montreat, N.C. where they dispatched the No. 22 Lady Cavaliers, 86-73, extending their winning streak to three games. VI has won five of their last seven games.
"TT has been such a leader for this team all season," said Head Coach Jacyln Dickens, "This team feeds off of her energy on the court and she does a great job keeping the girls together in tight situations. I'm so proud for her. She is so determined to win and she wanted to do anything she could to help our team win our previous two games [against Montreat and Bluefield]."
Webb notched her second 30 point game of the season on Saturday against Montreat College scoring 37 points, made 11 shots from 23 attempts, knocked down six 3-pointers out of 10 attempts and went 9-12 from the charity stripe (all season and career highs). Webb also pulled down six rebounds and had three steals against the Lady Cavaliers.
The 5'9" senior from Dublin, Va. scored 23 points against Bluefield College last Wednesday, her sixth game of the year scoring more than 22 points. In that game she also had eight rebounds, three assists and four steals.
Webb is leading the Lady Cobras in scoring with 17.81 points per game and currently ranks No. 23 in Division II NAIA in points per game as well as No. 32 in field goal percentage. She also ranked 37th in Division II NAIA for 3-pt field goal percentage (.376).
In the AAC, Webb currently sits in second in points per game and field goal percentage, behind only Lindsey Waters of Union (21.60). In the conference she ranks: 10th in free throw percentage (.659), 8th in steals per game (1.65), 13th in total rebounds per game (5.60), 9th in blocks per game (.80), 7th in assists per game (2.95) and has 2 double-doubles on the season (7th in the AAC).
The Lady Cobras are 13-8 overall this season and 6-3 in the AAC, good enough for a tie for second place with Bluefield and Union.
The Lady Cobras will host the Lady Buffaloes of Milligan College this Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. VI can move into a tie for first place in the AAC with a win and a Tennessee Wesleyan College loss, who travels to Bryan College to take on the Lady Lions.
