Abby Stephenson signs her letter of intent to join VI's women's soccer program
ELIZABETHTON, TN - Virginia Intermont College women's soccer team has inked its first recruit for the 2012 season in GK Abby Stephenson.
Stephenson was a four year starter at Elizabethton High School where she recorded 21 shutouts in 72 games and helped lead the Elizabethton Cyclones to an 11-5-4 record this season. Her nine shutouts in 2009 is a school record.
She was named defensive player of the year for the Cyclones her junior and senior years and was named to the All-Regional 1st Team her senior year. She made the All-Regional 2nd team her sophomore and junior year.
Stephenson is ranked 37th out of 187 students and has a 3.5 GPA. She also has played softball in all four years at Elizabethton. She is an active member in FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes).
