The Cobras' Men's Golf Team chose the Salvation Army and the "Ringing of the Bell" as their community service project for the fall semester.  They have pledged to work a total of 60 hours and will finish their hours this week.

"I contacted the Bristol chapter of the Salvation Army and inquired as to their needs and they had several vacancies for their annual "Ringing the Bell" drive.  This is their largest fundraising effort for the sole purpose of providing food to hungry families, Christmas presents to needy children, heating the homes of struggling seniors and changing lives.  Knowing what their projects are targeted for, how could you not help?  Our young men have done a really good job in this very cold weather the past few days,"  Coach Collier commented.

The athletic teams are challenged to participate in at least one major community service project per semester and more if available.  All of the teams and athletes at VI do a remarkable job in the amount of time and effort that is spent on these community service projects.  VI should be extremely proud of these young adults that are changing the community.

Coach Collier added, " I hope that our young men understand just what impact they have had this holiday season."
